THE ALIDA

PHOTOGRAPHER: Andrew Thomas Lee

THE MOOD: rich, contrast, greyed undertones, grained overlays, industrial

THE APPROACH: For some brand affiliations there are limitations in the approach to photography of a hotel. However, in an effort to express the industrial area in which The Alida was located and its rich layers of design we pushed the photography to utilize shadow and greyed overlays to enrich the perceived experience and align the photography with the brand and real-life design.

EMELINE

Charleston, SC

PHOTOGRAPHER: Lindsey Harris Shorter

THE MOOD: warm overlays, the sense of coziness, emphases on warmth, intimate spaces

THE APPROACH: Working with Makeready and knowing the spatial limitations of this building following its renovation from a Double Tree to a Luxury Hotel, our decision was to over emphasize the quaint coziness of the space through warm undertones and hazy texturizing. When you walk into Emeline you immediately are hit with a layer of warmth and approachability that is seldom accomplished. Therefore, our goal in the photography was to emulate this layer of warmth and cordial hospitality in every image we produced.

THE ADOLPHUS

Dallas, TX

PHOTOGRAPHER: Steven Visneau

THE MOOD: rich wood, dark shadows, deep volumes

THE APPROACH: Decades of history echo through the design and physicality of The Adolphus. When approaching the photography of this space, we anchored on the rich walnut paneling and history through a deep and shadowed photography. The depth felt in these images personifies the experience when walking through each layered space within the hotel. Our goal was to establish the updated narrative with a timelessness that felt relevant for any occasion or circumstance.
